New music sensation, one of the ’25 Most Influential Teens of 2014′, actor, singer, songwriter and YouTuber, Troye Sivan will be the highlight on Sunday, the 22nd of May, as he will receive the “Kia’s One To Watch” title on the 2016 Billboard Music Awards.
2016 Billboard Music Awards showers newfound, rising artists with “Kia’s One to Watch”. The annual event started last year with Tori Kelly being the inaugural honouree.
Sivan will be invited to perform his hit single “Youth” in front of a jam-packed audience at the Awards show on the May 22nd. He took to Twitter to reveal that today was “one of those days where I get to announce like life changing news for me”. He finished the tweet with a bunch of skull emojis.

“I’ve never performed in front of an audience that big before. And that’s the physical audience — I’m not talking about the TV,” Sivan said of the opportunity. “I really want this moment to be a big moment in my career and I want it to be something…that people really associate with me for the rest of my life.”

The 2016 Billboard Music Awards will air live at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Sunday, May 22. In addition to Sivan, performers on the night will include Justin Bieber, Celine Dion, DNCE, Fifth Harmony, The Go-Go’s, Demi Lovato, Shawn Mendes, Pink, Britney Spears and a collaboration is confirmed with Nick Jonas and Tove Lo.
