Demi Lovato, in a recent interview with We Love Pop magazine, discussed how people often forget that Miley Cyrus is not Hannah Montana. The critics do not really know the real her, or for that matter, any of the other musicians who grew up in the public eye.

“Nobody knows her, nobody really knows who I am, and the same with Selena [Gomez] and Jonas [Brothers] and everyone that has grown up in front of the public eye. We’re adults now.”

She believes that Miley is just being who she is. Her antics on stage are merely for the shock value and people should not disregard her musical talent because of them.

Lovato says of her friend of the past seven years or so: “Everyone is on their different journeys and she’s having fun, she’s being who she is – so power to her.”
