Diplo, Skrillex and Kaskade have all received Grammy nominations for their work this past year.
The list of nominees for the 2016 Grammys was released on Monday (Dec. 7), revealing a diverse line-up of talent. While still being treated like the red-headed step-child of the award show, electronic dance music remained unnappreciated, receiving the minimum accolades. It’s better than nothing.
The ubiquitous Jack U was present for ‘Best Dance Recording’ thanks to their song “Where Are U Now” with Justin Bieber. Diplo also received a nomination for ‘Producer of the Year, Non-Classical’ along with Jeff Bhasker who worked with F.U.N. on “We are Young” and Blake Mills who has produced for Sky Ferreira and the Alabama Shakes.
Kaskade’s remix for “Runaway (U and I)” by Galantis earned the Trance artist a nod for ‘Best Remix (Non-Classical).” Some other notable nominees for a Grammy this year are the Chemical Brothers, Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd, Nicki Minaj, Ed Sheeran, and Bruno Mars.
Below is the remix which earned Kaskade this year’s shout-out.
