Lady Gaga, The Chainsmokers, Ariana Grande and Moby are just some of the artists that have taken to social media to demand stricter gun control laws in the United States in the wake of the tragic Las Vegas shooting.
While many musicians shared their thoughts and encouraged fans to donate blood or funds to the victims of and families affected by the tragic event, many others have taken a stronger voice and demanded this country’s laws to change.
Perhaps the United States can look at other countries for solutions. After a 1996 mass shooting, the government of Australia passed strict gun control and nearly 20 years later it has had no mass shootings. The United States within a little more than a year has had two, which has claimed the lives of more than 100 people. Both of those events, at Pulse Nightclub on June 12, 2016 and Route 91 Harvest Festival on October 1, 2017 happened while fans were enjoying musical performances.
