The third and concluding episode of Stories on Stories, the documentary miniseries chronicling the creation of Avicii’s Stories album, is now available to watch. Titled The Lost Tapes, the episode completes a reflective trilogy released to mark the album’s 10th anniversary in 2025, offering fans an intimate look at the creative process behind a defining moment in Avicii’s career.
The Lost Tapes focuses on the making of several standout tracks from Stories, including “Broken Arrows,” “Ten More Days,” “Can’t Catch Me,” and “Pure Grinding.” Through rare behind-the-scenes footage, the episode paints a vivid picture of Avicii at work—experimenting, refining ideas, and shaping songs that would go on to influence the sound of modern electronic music. One of the highlights is a candid writing session with Wyclef Jean, who co-wrote and provided vocals on “Can’t Catch Me,” capturing the collaborative spirit that fueled the album.
Across its concise 14-minute runtime, the episode also takes viewers inside the Los Angeles studios where much of the album came together, grounding the music in a real sense of place and moment. Interwoven with the studio scenes is footage of a live performance of “Waiting for Love,” reminding viewers how these carefully crafted tracks translated into powerful, emotional moments on stage.
The first two episodes of Stories on Stories—The Making of For A Better Day and The Details Matter—were released late last year and laid the foundation for this final installment. Together, the trilogy offers a focused yet deeply personal exploration of Stories, an album often regarded as Avicii’s most mature and conceptually rich body of work. The series was produced by Pophouse Entertainment in collaboration with the Avicii Estate, ensuring the project remained both authentic and respectful to the late artist’s legacy.
Beyond the documentary, Avicii’s influence continues to be celebrated worldwide. The Together For A Better Day tribute concert series, organized by the Tim Bergling Foundation, returned last month to the Avicii Arena in Stockholm for its annual show. Meanwhile, last year Tomorrowland honored Avicii a decade after his final headline performance at the festival, unveiling a memorial and releasing his iconic Tomorrowland sets on Apple Music.
With The Lost Tapes, Stories on Stories comes full circle—celebrating not just an album, but the creative curiosity, collaboration, and emotional depth that defined Avicii’s artistry. For longtime fans and newer listeners alike, the final episode stands as a moving reminder of why Stories remains such a vital chapter in electronic music history.
